With these easy No-Bake S’Mores Treats, you can enjoy all of the flavors of classic s’mores – graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow – any time! No camp fire needed!
It sure is fun to sit around a camp fire and make s’mores, isn’t it? But sometimes you might just be craving some s’mores when you’re not camping and there’s no fire in sight.
These delicious little s’mores bars are exactly what you need!
Sure, you could use the microwave to make traditional s’mores, but why not try something a little different instead? These No-Bake S’Mores Treats are made just like Rice Krispies Treats (YUM!) but with Golden Grahams cereal and some chocolate added to the marshmallow mixture.
They’re ooey-gooey, soft and chewy (yet a little crunchy), chocolaty, sweet, and so good it’s really hard to eat just one! They’re a bit addicting!
And they’re super quick and easy! They come together in only about 20 minutes. Then all you have to do is be patient and let them cool (definitely a bit of a challenge!).
By the way, did you ever wonder why they’re called s’mores? Simple! S’more is just a contraction of the words some more – as in these treats are so yummy that you always want some more! Always.
I originally got this recipe many years ago either off the Golden Grahams box or a bag of Nestle chocolate chips (called Indoor S’Mores) – not sure which – but I’ve adjusted it slightly over the years as package sizes have changed so that you just need one box or bag of everything with nothing left over.
I also took out the corn syrup because it’s an ingredient that I don’t use often enough to stock in my pantry – and I don’t notice any difference at all without it!
INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:

HERE’S A QUICK LOOK AT HOW TO MAKE NO-BAKE S’MORES TREATS:
TIPS & TIDBITS:
- Lining the pan with parchment makes it super easy to get the treats out of the pan after they cool so you can cut them. If you don’t have any, you could use wax paper instead or you could just go with the sprayed pan.
- I prefer to use mini marshmallows because they melt more quickly and evenly, but you could use larger marshmallows if that’s all you have. Mini or big, make sure they’re fresh! Old, stale marshmallows will result in serious disappointment.
- Use low heat! It may take a bit longer for everything to melt, but it will help prevent any burning. Plus, if the heat is too high, it can result in your treats being hard instead of soft and chewy.
- Once you add the cereal, you will want to work relatively quickly to mix everything together and get it pressed into the pan. The cooler it gets, the harder it is to work with.
- Once I get the mixture in the pan, I just go in with my fingers to press it down. I spray them with a bit of cooking spray to prevent sticking. I think it’s the quickest and easiest way to get the job done, but a spatula or spoon sprayed with cooking spray will work too.
- If you’re in a hurry and want to speed up the cooling time, you can put the pan in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Eat them up quick! These treats are at their best soon after being made. After a few days, your wonderful soft and chewy treats will start to get stale and hard. Can’t eat them all? Share them!
These are the perfect summertime no-bake dessert that’s sure to be loved by everyone (but they’re also good in winter too)!

No-Bake S’Mores Treats
Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 1 (10-ounce) bag mini marshmallows, divided
- 1 (11.5-ounce) bag milk chocolate chips, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 (11.7-ounce) bag Golden Grahams cereal
Instructions
- Spray a 9x13x2-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Line the pan with parchment paper (the parchment should line the bottom and come up and overhang the two longer sides – this will make is easier to remove the treats from the pan after they cool). If you don't have parchment, wax paper will work or you could just use the sprayed pan.
- In a large pot (I use a 7-quart pot), melt the butter over low heat.
- Set aside ½ cup of the marshmallows and ¼ cup of the chocolate chips (these will be used to top the treats later). When the butter has melted, add the remaining marshmallows and chocolate chips to the pot. Continue cooking over low heat, stirring occasionally, until completely melted and well-combined.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Add the Golden Grahams and stir everything together until the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture. It's okay if there are a few bare spots here and there, but the cereal should be mostly coated so that the bars do not fall apart. Work quickly here, as the mixture gets harder to work with the more it cools down.
- Pour the cereal mixture into the prepared pan. Spread it out evenly and press it down into the pan. I use my fingertips, sprayed a little with cooking spray, to do this (I think it's the easiest way to get the job done), but a spoon or spatula sprayed with cooking spray works too.
- Sprinkle the remaining marshmallows and chocolate chips evenly over the top and gently press them down into the treats so that they stick.
- Cool the treats until firm, about an hour.
- Cut the treats into 24 squares.
Notes
- Mini marshmallows melt more quickly and evenly, but you could use larger marshmallows if that’s all you have.
- If you’re in a hurry and want to speed up the cooling time, you can put the pan in the fridge for 15 to 30 minutes.
- Store the treats in an air-tight container at room temperature.
- Eat them up quick! These treats are at their best soon after being made. After a few days, they will begin to get stale and hard.
